PRESS RELEASE | The international product and interior designer, Marcel Wanders, has joined the advisory board of THNK, the Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership. As part of THNK’s multi-disciplinary team of advisors, he will contribute his unique expertise in creative and design processes to the THNK Creative Leadership Program.
“Marcel has been involved in our school’s development since its inception,” said Bas Verhart, cofounder and chairman of THNK. “We look forward to tapping into his ideas and energy to help hardwire creativity into our new creative leadership program.”
Described by the New York Times as the “Lady Gaga of the design world,” Wanders first gained an international recognition in 1996, with the production of the Knotted Chair, which is now part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
In addition to running his studio, Wanders is co-founder and Artistic Director of the successful design label Moooi. Wanders designs for leading international companies, including Flos, Alessi, Puma, MAC Cosmetics, Cappellini, B&B Italia, Moroso and Target. His architectural projects include the Kameha Grand hotel in Bonn, the Mondrian South Beach hotel in Miami and the Villa Moda store in Bahrain.
Last week THNK announced the starting date of the THNK Creative Leadership Program – 17 March 2012. Its groundbreaking curriculum targets professionals from around the world, with the goal of orchestrating innovation that really matters.
The THNK Creation Process
THNK’s 18-month part-time program is based in Amsterdam, and features the unique THNK Creation Process and real-life challenges brought to the table by leading businesses and organizations. Participants will work with a multi-disciplinary team of creative entrepreneurs, leading designers and CEOs of listed companies – as well as philosophers and artists – to achieve a cross-pollination aimed at inspiring true innovation that will improve the world.
THNK, the Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership, was founded in 2009 as an international educational foundation. Its creative leadership program is designed accelerate the development of creative leaders, turn global challenges and crises into opportunities, and create a more meaningful and sustainable way of life.
