The international product and interior designer, Marcel Wanders, has joined the advisory board of THNK, the Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership. As part of THNK’s multi-disciplinary team of advisors, he will contribute his unique expertise in creative and design processes to the THNK Creative Leadership Program.
“Marcel has been involved in our school’s development since its inception,” said Bas Verhart, co-founder and chairman of THNK. “We look forward to tapping into his ideas and energy to help hardwire creativity into our new creative leadership program.”
Described by the New York Times as the “Lady Gaga of the design world,” Wanders first gained international recognition in 1996, with the production of the Knotted Chair, which is now part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
In addition to running his studio, Wanders is co-founder and Artistic Director of the successful design label Moooi. Wanders designs for leading international companies, including Flos, Alessi, Puma, MAC Cosmetics, Cappellini, B&B Italia, Moroso and Target. His architectural projects include the Kameha Grand hotel in Bonn, the Mondrian South Beach hotel in Miami and the Villa Moda store in Bahrain.
