THNK connects with innovation leaders in India

THNK, the Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership, is intensifying its relationships with innovation leaders and organizations in India. During a trade mission of the Mayor of Amsterdam, March 26 - 30, to Mumbai and Bangalore, THNK will be meeting a diverse mix of potential partners, participants, educators and media. In the first edition of the THNK program, that started March 16, six out of thirty participants are Indian, representing leading social, creative and business organizations.

 

Founding participants
In the first edition of the leadership program, that started March 16, two out of thirty participants are coming from India, Rahul Nainwal and Sonali Ojha.

 

Rahul is a social entrepreneur from India. Rahul started his career in marketing and sales but quickly moved to the voluntary sector, which resulted in him co-founding iVolunteer, a place where volunteers can share time, skills and passion for a better India.

 

Sonali has been developing psycho-social programs for vulnerable and disenfranchised children and youth for the last 18 years. She is the founder and visionary of Dreamcatchers, and Ashoka Fellow. She is currently writing “Breaking New Ground- exploring embodies approaches to youth development.” Sonali comes to THNK to discover how to apply its principles in the field of youth development.

 

THNK Hub in India
According to THNK’s co-founder Bas Verhart: “India is an important innovation economy. THNK is an international educational foundation whose creative leadership program is designed to accelerate the development of global creative leaders, and to create a more meaningful and sustainable way of life. India has both a great tradition and potential when it comes to creative thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s position and influence in the world is rapidly growing and we are now looking to intensify our relationships. We are specifically looking into possibilities to establish a THNK home in India together with Indian business and educational partners.”

 

Program
THNK’s mission to India with the Mayor of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Economic Board, is travelling to Mumbai and Bangalore to set up a network of partners and ambassadors. As part of the Amsterdam – India visit THNK is hosting a Creative Leadership Workshop at the Dutch Design Workspace in Mumbai / March 27 - from 2 p.m. (co-hosted by the Vice-Mayor of Amsterdam), and a Creative Leadership Workshop at Idiom Design’s DREAM:IN Center in Bangalore / March 29 - from 1 p.m. (hosted by THNK Co-founder & Chairman Bas Verhart).

 

Mixed Participants/Guests
During the visit THNK will be meeting and exchanging with CEOs, Innovation & R&D Directors, HR Directors, Country Directors from corporate organizations like Nike, RIL, Godrej, Future Group, IBM and Tata; Directors of creative firms like Kyoorius, Idiom, They, BBDO, Indi Design, India Design Forum, and Addikt; Founders and leaders of social and public ventures like Acumen Fund, Ashoka and Embrace.
