Artur Mendes

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, I am one of the current co-managers of the Boom Festival, focusing on the production of communication, arts, architecture, and program. I have a university degree in social psychology, later starting an MA in culture management. I am a graduate of the THNK School of Creative Leadership.

My love for music led me to be active in the electronic music scene in Portugal since the mid-90s; organizing and curating events of various music genres, getting involved with Boom since the early days as a party-goer and production staff, working on communication for magazines, websites, and TV, and writing and producing documentaries and books. Representing Boom, I have spoken at events such as ADE, Nuits Sonores, Green Events and Innovations, ADE Mumbai, Talk Fest, and Green Operations, to name a few.

I love traveling, doing social work, and experiencing dance floors. As a Boom team members, the motto is to positively affect people through beauty, nature, the arts, out-of-the-box ideas, and independent culture to awaken the subversive self of the Boomers so they can transform their communities back home.
