Barbara Hedler

My name is Barbara Hedler, I am a Brazilian currently living in The Netherlands.

I am a chemical engineer with a MSc in International Management in Oil, Gas, and Energy from the University of Liverpool. I have enjoyed half of my career working in the corporate sector, mainly oil and gas industries in Brazil and The Netherlands. For the other half, I worked for an International Organization part of the United Nations. Since October 2021, I am leading businesses strategies and operations of Maeté, a Brazilian pioneer company in the industrial and medicinal uses of cannabis.

I enjoy working with people to encourage, inspire and motivate them to innovate and create change that will help grow and shape the future success of companies and societies! That is the main reason why I have left the corporate world to join this transformative, sustainable and innovative field - to leave the world better and more sustainable than when I arrived! For me, a good leader is someone with empathy, someone who cares for the people, trust and empower his/her teams!

I am passionate about new cultures and flavours! I love travelling, and so far I have seen 1/3 of the world. I also love sports like running, cycling, skating and yoga! In my spare time, I enjoy giving mentoring sessions, particularly for young female professionals, love writing, reading, dancing and cooking!
