I am a passionate entrepreneur with over 10 years of corporate experience across the banking, media and advertising sectors. I was at the forefront of executing one of the first large-scale interactive mobile health (mHealth) campaigns in Africa.
After watching a BBC television documentary on the explosive growth of mobile telephony in Africa, I developed the idea of using SMS communication to reach wide audiences with health education. In being intrigued by the idea and realizing its potential, I decided to radically change my life, gave up my job and move to Africa.
I am the Co-Founder and CEO of the award-winning social enterprise Text to Change (TTC). Since 2007, TTC has been using mobile technology for social marketing and to research the tastes and opinions of millions of people in Africa, South America and Asia. Currently, TTC is one of the market leaders in its field. The company connects hundreds of organizations with their often hard-to-reach target audiences in 17 countries across the world.
