Celine BANKUMUHARI

I am an African woman, married, and mother of 5 beautiful children. I am passionate about women's fulfillment of their God-given potential to the fullest and highest level possible. I have been working in different organizations( ACORD, FECCLAHA, OXFAM, IOM/AU) for the last 17 years on issues ranging from peace and security, gender, trade, to migration and currently working with the Danish Refugee Council(DRC) on durable solutions for displaced people in the Great Lakes region of Africa. This is a thematic issue that brings multiple sectors at play in order to find sustainable solutions for the future of the countries and people at hand. I am passionate about good governance and politics because of their deciding factor for the development and for the survival of entire generations. In all this, I see the untapped potential of women that could drive our countries to prosperity should we invest in education and bring about the rule of law, especially when it comes to generations of displaced persons that will never live to their fullest potential because of politics. I value ethics, competence, and meritocracy. When not working, I love reading, serving in a community of women like-minded, I enjoy convivial dinner with family and friends, as well as physical exercise.
