Floran Derijcke

Forty-three years ago I was born in Schiedam, in the south of the Netherlands. At present, I am living in Amsterdam, across the river in Noord. My parents divorced when I was 8. The insecure period after that and a personal issue that I had to deal with shaped me a lot. I learned not to put energy into things you have no control over and to always see things from other perspectives to turn a situation into something positive. It also resulted in me becoming more sensitive for my surroundings and being open to my feelings.

I do what I do because I love beautiful things. I love communication and cooperation. Working in fashion and dealing with clients, personnel, factories, and other stakeholders feel very natural to me. Furthermore, I am passionate about art, architecture, travel and most of all, other people. So when I am not working, you can find me painting, building things in or around my house, visiting friends and family, reading, cooking, playing golf, running, going to the gym, riding my motorcycle/or working on it. I do not have a TV and don't use facebook, twitter or Instagram. I can't simply waste time on that.

I really think that a great leader takes full responsibility and creates an atmosphere where people can excel and thrive.
