THRIVE - Class 03
I have worked in the areas of innovation, research and development during my career. I've always challenged the status quo not only in the area of product research and development, but also in how teams collaborate in a human-centered way.
Most of the roles I have taken on have been project oriented. I've always felt most comfortable leading teams without having disciplinary power. Additionally, I've also had opportunities to take on roles in higher management positions.
After previously working in various functions for a large company in the sensor industry, I later joined a smaller innovation agency which supported all kinds of industries. These projects were always in the very early stages of the innovation process with out-of-the-box ideas and market relevant solutions – always challenging the status quo.
Learning a lot through interacting and collaborating with the various members of the customer’s teams, I got the chance to take over the senior project leader role in the textile industry – an area where I had no previous knowledge or experience.
I am convinced that the power of collaboration in a multidisciplinary team is the key element to grow as a person and to tackle the challenges we are facing as a society.
