Mohamed Hamdy

I am currently advising British Petroleum Ventures and Masdar on setting up the first startup accelerator focused on sustainability in the MENA region. I was previously the Managing Director of the 'Turn8 Accelerator' based out of Dubai. Also, I was the investment and business development director for a family Office in Abu Dhabi for 7 years, primarily managing a private equity portfolio and sourcing investment opportunities in diverse industries. I founded and was the General Manager of Tadawul, a stock brokerage company in 2006. Following the start up space closely, my interest now is getting involved in venture capital in the region and help build programs and initiatives that focus on entrepreneurship. Equally, I am an investor in the 'FundersClub' based out of San Francisco, and 'Corvus Energy', a lithium battery company based out of Vancouver that focuses on building energy storage systems.
