Steven Collet
Executive Leadership Program - Amsterdam Class 05
I was referred to THNK by Jeroen de Lange.
I have a heart for change even though my professional home has been at one place for over fifteen years now: the Dutch Foreign Service.
From there I have served as a diplomat in Africa and Asia, witnessing how Europe's role shifts as new economies emerge.
I have been actively forging ties between global and local arena's on natural resource management and poverty alleviation. When back at the headquarters, I am a key change agent, taking up different roles of speechwriter, management adviser and team leader for diplomatic reform.
Currently, I serve as the Chief of Staff of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. My focus is on transforming my ministry into a flexible network organization - I am a team player at the forefront of modern diplomacy.
I started my studies in Arts and Humanities at the Free University of Brussels and graduated in Communications and Development in Nijmegen. Be it at home, with my family in Amsterdam, or at work in the world, mindful engagement is what I aim to achieve everywhere.
