Surya Sidabutar
I was born and raised in Amsterdam by a Dutch mom and Indonesian dad. My background is in social psychology and behavioural influence, and I am fascinated with all things related to how the mind works, how people behave, interact, connect, and how social context comes into play. I’m inherently curious about the world around me and am always looking to learn about or experience that which is unknown to me still.
Being a bit of an idealist, it’s very important to me to have a sense of purpose in the work that I do. I was therefore drawn to THNK because of its mission to ignite change by cultivating good leaders, as I believe good leadership is absolutely essential in tackling the current societal, environmental and financial challenges we are facing. I believe that when we stop to look inward, reflect on who we are, what we stand for and how we want to show up in the world, we are able to live authentically and purposefully and cause a ripple effect by inspiring others to do the same.
One of the many reasons I enjoy working at THNK is that this is central to each program, and I can assist our participants in their journey towards finding their true authentic self and the place from which they want to lead. In my free time I like to read, play piano, meditate, travel, learn about a new topic, learn a new skill or try out a new recipe.
