Tessa Wernink
Executive Leadership Program - Amsterdam Class 16
I am entrepreneurial and strategic, a systems thinker and strong communicator. In 2013, I was part of the founding team of Fairphone, a social enterprise using the production of smartphones to make a social impact, and am currently co-director of TADA, which focuses on data ethics and creating responsible digital societies.
I grew up in Hong Kong, and have worked across Asia and Europe. My interests lie in how society can innovate, disrupt and develop for the good of the community and the environment.
I am motivated by and engaged with the big issues facing the contemporary world, and see no point of working for anything that doesn’t offer a meaningful solution for current and future generations. My ambition is always to come together around shared values and purpose and to work toward alternatives that matter.
My academic background is in languages, literature, and communications. My occupational background is in business, marketing communications, and (social) entrepreneurship. I am a deep democracy advocate and have trained in non-violent communication and non-violent resistance. I live in Amsterdam with my partner and three wonderful sons.
